Taylor Swift’s 25th Birthday To Be Celebrated By The Grammy Museum

New York City’s new Global Welcome Ambassador, Taylor Swift, will be honored by The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles with “The Taylor Swift Experience”, that will debut on her 25th birthday, Dec. 13, 2014. The exhibit will feature never-before-seen personal photographs and home videos, interactive experiences, handwritten lyrics of her hits, and stage costumes.

Seven-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift is being honored for her 25th birthday on December 13, 2014 with “The Taylor Swift Experience” exhibit at The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.

“Global superstar Taylor Swift is one of popular music’s biggest talents, whose music is beloved by millions of fans worldwide,” said Bob Santelli, Executive Director of the Grammy Museum. “The story of Taylor’s remarkable rise to superstardom is one that the Grammy Museum is extremely excited to tell.”

“The Taylor Swift Experience” will include:

  • Early childhood reading books
  • Never-before-seen family and childhood photos
  • Costumes from Swift’s RED Tour
  • Handwritten lyrics for her hit “22”
  • Swift’s 2009 Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “White Horse”
  • Props used in the music video for “Shake It Off”
  • Dresses worn in her music video for “Mean”
  • The dress she wore in the music video for “Teardrops On My Guitar”
  • Swift’s banjo used during her performance at the 54th Grammy Awards in 2012

“The Taylor Swift Experience” will be on display in the Grammy Museum’s Special Exhibits Gallery through May 10, 2015. The Grammy Museum is located at 800 West Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Swift’s 1989 is the first CD released in 2014 to be certified platinum. It sold 1.3 million copies in its first week, the largest sales week for an album since 2002. The singer is the only artist in history to sell a million albums in a week three different times. In addition to 1989, her Red album sold 1.2 million in 2012, and Speak Now sold 1 million in 2010.

On Nov. 19, 2014, Swift became the first woman to replace herself atop Billboard’s Hot 100 songchart as “Blank Space” bumped her hit “Shake It Off” from No. 1.

Swift has won seven Grammy Awards including the 2009 Album of the Year for Fearless. At 20-years-old, she was the young artist ever to win the award.

Time magazine has named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world, she is Billboard‘s youngest-ever Woman of the Year and the only artist to have received the honor twice.

Swift was named New York’s Welcome Ambassador for Tourism on Oct. 27, 2014, six months after moving to Manhattan from Nashville, Tennessee. The opening song of her 1989 album is “Welcome to New York,” and she will “welcome the world to Times Square” when she performs on Dec. 31, 2014 on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015”.
